Story of We Embodied Earth Arts is a collective of practitioners in service to the return to the body, the Earth, the Arts, and the feminine path of nourishment. Each EEA offering will be a different constellation of practitioners depending on the intention of the offering.
Meet the Founder
Ava Appenrodt
Ava is an artist, mover, educator, somatic practitioner, and ritualist passionate about liberating life force energy in the body, empowering women’s voices, being in the juice of her creative aliveness, and collaborating with a global web of women. She was born and raised on the unceded territory of the Amah Mutsun people in Santa Cruz, California, with ancestral lines from Ireland, Portugal and Germany.
Prior to establishing Embodied Earth Arts, she co-founded SacredJourney.Earth, a church non-profit dedicated to preserving indigenous traditions. For six years, she co-guided ceremonial gatherings with the entheogenic Grandmother medicine, Ayahuasca, while also hosting women’s retreats and online programs focused on womb connection, sexual healing, and vocal liberation.
Ultimately, her passion rests in the ceremony of life, the breath, and the body, and it’s been her own struggles with menstrual health, sexuality and learning how to feel and express that have inspired her life’s devotion to the female body and voice. She is a devoted student of the ancient mysteries — including sacred sexuality, ayurveda, vedic astrology, Celtic Earth ways, and feminine principles of nourishment and cycles.
Her entrepreneurial spirit was supported by her relationship with her father, a locally-minded commercial real estate investor and developer in Santa Cruz County. Having spent many years working alongside him since a young age, she developed a natural and intuitive business sense, as well as an entrepreneurial mindset, which she now applies to her own life passions.
