Voice, Expression + Relationship Therapy
To work with the voice is to work in relationship, and the wounds and sensitivities around belonging. I’ve come to see this journey as one of returning to our roots, and re-establishing safety to be who we naturally are, where our voice is a congruent expression of our core needs and natural energy — to be seen and appreciated, not just for how we contribute, for the energy and presence that we carry.
When the voice is bound by compensatory patterns adopted in childhood, or inherited through our female lineages, it can manifest as self-doubt, people-pleasing, difficulty being heard, knowing what you want and receiving, over-controlling or manipulating, or struggling to embody and bring to life the gifts and ideas you carry.
Through a trauma-informed, somatic, and relational approach, we’ll bring loving presence and vibrational attunement to the patterns that create suffering — bringing presence to the process that is, increasing intimacy with your inner experience, and creating more congruency and authenticity in your energy and expression.
Inso doing, creating more alignment in your relationships, a growing sense of belonging, and a natural expansion in your creativity.
My Unique Lens
-
My approach to Voice Therapy is grounded in the understanding that your voice—how you express, relate, and communicate—didn’t form in isolation. It was shaped by your earliest relationships, where patterns of safety, connection, and belonging were either nurtured or fractured.
Honoring this relational imprint is central to the work. Together, we reestablish safety and belonging within the nervous system—especially in the places that never learned what it feels like to be truly met.
As you begin to relate to your process with greater compassion, you’ll find new ways to soften into your voice, your expression, and your presence in community.
-
For women, this is a time of profound opportunity to unravel centuries of silencing and suppression. I believe that when we restore our natural voice, it is also a journey of embodying feminine principles of softening, listening, and trusting, and releasing old patterns of efforting, overriding, manipulating and proving. It is a journey into the body, where a natural strength resides, such that the voice is an emanation of the heart, and an embodied and congruent expression of one’s truth.
-
Your voice is more than a tool—it’s a barometer of your inner world. It reflects your nervous system, your relational history, and your present-moment truth.
In this work, we attune to the voice—not just the words you speak, but the energy, tremble, tone, and struggle underneath. We use your own sound as medicine, to regulate the nervous system, move stagnant energy, and restore coherence between body, heart, and voice.
-
Injuries around our voice can create feelings of doubt and insecurity in group environments, and in our expression and contribution to the group space. Through this healing path, we begin to rebuild the sense of trust in our relationship with our self, and how we communicate and express, and as a result, life begins to mirror back to us experiences, and community environments that are a reflection of increased safety and sense of home within Self.
-
Integrated in the lens I see through is the impact of developmental trauma and the unspoken, ancestral stories that shape one’s patterns with the voice. I believe that many women are here at this time to unload generations of repression, as well as to liberate their art, their heart, and their voice. As such, I see this work as not just personal, but deeply interconnected to the threads of time. It is not just for one’s own healing, but also for the children, our ancestral lines, and for the anchoring of more play, joy, art and celebration on the planet.
-
As a ritualist, as well as a therapeutic practitioner, I know that it is through holding a spacious container, that the unseen forces, and the intelligence of your nervous system, can work, can move, can heal. Part of my role as witness, is to hold a sacred space to support your own relationship with yourself, your body, and with the mystery of your Soul’s healing path.
-
Essential to the voice is the relationship to receiving—whether through food, care, or relationships. Often times, patterns we’ve developed around the voice have been used as a way to protect the heart and keep us safe. This can show up through styles of speaking that keep people away, and prevent us from receiving the nourishment of intimacy. Or it can be a pattern of holding back our words and feelings, which can then translate to challenged, or addictive patterns, with food, or drugs. The work with the voice is deeply intertwined with nourishment.
-
The pelvis and the jaw are anatomically, energetically, emotionally and spiritually connected. To work with the voice, is also to invite in the connection with where we speak from, the quality of how we inhabit our body. For those in female bodies, there is an invitation into the work of womb reconnection, and healing around our sexuality, such that are voice is informed by the embodiment of these wise & sacred centers of life and life force.

Turning towards Feeling
-
With new clients interested in 1-1 therapeutic work, I work in containers that are at least 3 months long, with 1 session a week / 3 sessions a month. Sometimes we work with vibration and sound, and sometimes, we will be together through talking, sensing, and attuning to the process that is happening. As we continue in our work and creative energy begins to liberate, our sessions will begin to incorporate more ‘life as art’ coaching to support the creative becoming and life shifts that are naturally happening. Group processes, ceremonies and events will be updated on my event calendar.
-
The majority of our sessions together are online via zoom, however, I also offer in-person sessions and ritual offerings in person in Santa Cruz, California. I also offer retreats internationally — stay tuned.
-
Payment plans are available for my 1:1 work. If you deeply resonate with this work but finances are a barrier, I’m always open to a conversation. I also will be offering group voice & relationship healing processes which is another more financially accessible offering — those will be coming later in 2025. Right now, my 3 month containers are being offered at $2,500.

When the voice is not a relaxed and congruent expression of our core self, it can manifest in both subtle and tangible ways, including:
Physical Symptoms: Conditions like thyroid issues, tension in the throat, or recurring vocal strain may signal an unresolved disconnect between your expression and your inner truth.
Boundary Fatigue: The constant need to assert boundaries can stem from a voice that is not congruent with one’s embodied energetic transmission — a voice that has been conditioned to prioritize others’ comfort over your own core needs.
Food and Nourishment Imbalances: Challenges in your relationship with meals—whether overeating, undereating, or difficulty enjoying food—can reflect injuries around the voice and freedom of expression that influence an ability to enjoy and feel nourished in the relationship with food.
Difficulty Receiving: Whether it’s receiving compliments, support, or love, resistance to receiving often points to a deeper vulnerability in feeling met and seen.
Not Feeling Seen or Heard: This persistent experience might be a symptom of patterns developed to keep you safe—silencing parts of yourself, minimizing your needs, or shrinking your presence in relationships.
Feeling Like You're Not Living Into Your Creative and Professional Potential: When your voice is stifled, your creative and professional expression often feels blocked. You might have ideas, talents, and dreams that never fully take form, not because they aren’t viable, but because something within you doubts your right to take up space, be visible, and share your gifts with the world.
Ultimately, only you know if this work, and the community that surrounds it, is aligned for your path. If you’re interested to feel further, please feel welcome to schedule a connection call, to further discuss how I, and we at Embodied Arts, can support your path, and if we are a fit in doing so.
